Dr.Vivek Trivedi is a highly accomplished individual with a Ph.D. in Social Work from the esteemed Center for Social Work at Panjab University, Chandigarh. His commitment to addressing global challenges and his passion for social advocacy have earned him numerous accolades and recognition. As a Climate Reality Fellow in 2009, he actively participated in the Asia Pacific Summit held in Melbourne, hosted by the Australian Conservation Foundation. Dr. Trivedi’s dedication to international affairs and youth empowerment led to his selection in the International Youth Parliament in 2004, and in 2014, he was nominated as a Drafting Committee Member for the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Youth Statement, incorporated into the Nagoya Declaration 2014, by UNESCO.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Trivedi received the prestigious Hindustan Times Brightest Young Climate Leadership Award in 2010, presented by the British Council in New Delhi. He has also been twice honored with State Awards by the Chandigarh Administration, first in 2014 and then again in 2020, on the 65th Republic Day and the 74th Independence Day, respectively. His international engagements include being an alumnus of institutions such as the Diplomacy Training Programme (DTP) at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and the Jeju International Training Center, UNITAR/CIFAL, Jeju, South Korea. Dr. Trivedi’s expertise spans various domains, including Organizational Development & Strengthening, International Relations and Partnership Building, Advocacy, Programme Management and Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Capacity Building.

In 2014, he founded the Association of Professional Social Workers and Development Practitioners (APSWDP), a renowned think tank. His visionary leadership played a pivotal role in securing Special Consultative Status under the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN-ECOSOC), as well as Accreditation and Observer Status under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Trivedi is a passionate author, a globetrotter, and a keen photographer, combining his love for travel with a unique artistic eye. Presently, he serves as the Social Development Officer in the Development Cell of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh, where his dedication to addressing global challenges and creating positive change remains unwavering.
